🧵 Thursday Thread - Floral Ghosts Inside

Thursday Thread

A weekly note from Tasha Quilts on what I'm stitching and what is inspiring me!

Happy Friday Eve!

This week is an exciting week - my oldest turns 9 today! My daughter even spent her bookfair money on him yesterday to get him a present today.

I did finish up this quilt recently - well, I outsourced it, lol. My friend Susan quilted and put the binding on this quilt for me. It is a Cotton Cuts Puzzle Mystery Quilt called Flyaway. I originally really didn't like this quilt because I really didn't like the fabrics along the border, they seem very muddy to me. While I still don't love it, it has grown on me a smidge. But I guess that is the risk you take with a mystery quilt!

You can watch the video I made when I originally finished it here.

Sewing Room Updates

Well, this weekend I spent two hours of my time trying to sew a wallet from a pattern that I eventually realized was GARBAGE. I have a video coming up on that soon. But last night I finished up this sweet quilt block for a collab quilt with some friends. Just a simple star, but I was pretty happy with most of my points! This was some Tilda fabric, and I love the colors so much!

Sew Inspired

Each week I like to share something that I just absolutely adore and wish I had time to make. This week, I want to show you my friend Erin's quilt pattern Night Folly. I tested this pattern and she is the most detailed person I've ever met when it comes to quilt patterns. It has options for you to choose different blocks and layouts. I love making a good floral ghosty! Here is one of the ghosts I made from her pattern! But the pattern is a lot more than just these ghosts - it has bats and plenty of mix and match blocks to choose from!

Weekly Poll

Last week we talked about holiday decor.

  • 23% said you decorate for fall only
  • 8% said you decorate for Halloween only
  • 42% of you decorate for both Fall and Halloween
  • 29% said you don't do seasonal decor

After this weekend and the birthday celebrations are over, I will decorate for Halloween. I'll probably then put a few Thanksgiving decorations up, but I usually only decorate for Halloween and Christmas, but it is a goal of mine in the upcoming year to make my house more homey and decorate for holidays more.

Let's talk about house decor this week - will you decorate for fall? For Halloween? Both? Neither! Tell me!

Happy Friday Eve! I recently searched the internet looking for the perfect wallet to make. I found the pattern on Etsy, bought it, and even spent two hours making it. Then I realize the pattern was not good. I wasted a lot of time. I reached out to the seller who apologized and promised they would take the listing down? Do you think that happened? Hear all about it in this week's video - UGH! This video has been taking off a bit (for me) on YouTube, and there are so many comments of people...

Thursday Thread A weekly note from Tasha Quilts on what I'm stitching and what is inspiring me! Happy Friday Eve! This week I experimented making a stained glass inspired (sort of) applique quilt block. It's not perfect, and I think I'd do some things differently next time. I think I would do the full flower and petal units together on the back and then cut them out instead of the individual pieces. I'd also change up the colors a bit. I'd love for you to tell me how you think I could make...
