Happy Friday Eve Reader!

Do kids belong in quilting spaces? Specifically quilt shows and shops.

I talked about how quilt shows were not particularly kid friendly this week. Even though the video has only been up a short time - I am surprised in some of the feedback I've received both privately and as comments across social media!

It is not a universal thought that kids belong at quilt shows, some people view this as adult only spaces. Which honestly, would have never occurred to me. But maybe that is because I'm a mom in the throes of motherhood right now.

As a working mom, in my limited free time I don't want to have to choose between my kids and my passion, I want them both. Is that so much to ask? lol.

What do you think? Should I have left my daughter home? Or do kids belong at quilt shows? How do you think this impacts the future of quilting if kids aren't welcomed?

Secret Sewing

I've started some secret sewing, which will be a bummer of not being able to show off the final quilt until its gifted in July (hopefully). But here is a sneak peak of some of the fabric I'm using. I'm pretty excited....

Weekly Poll

Last week I asked if you design your own quilts with software, use patterns or just see where the fabric takes you. Over half of you design your own quilts but just see where the fabric takes you! And I am so jealous! I need to work on that as a skill!

About 29% use only patterns, 11% use software and 8% would want to learn how to design your own quilts!

And I even got some emails that graph paper should have been an option - you are so right Katie. Graph paper is still a solid option in quilt design!

This week, I want to poll on the main topic of the video - do kids belong in quilty spaces?

Happy Friday Eve Reader! Well, when I suggested last week, it would be nice for quilting to be more kid friendly, I did not anticipate that there would be people who were firmly against that. First, thank you for all the great email responses last week - every one of them gave me something to...

Happy Friday Reader! With a new month, I'm all about setting goals. I've always been the kid/adult that loves a fresh start, a new notebook, etc. We are setting our monthly goals in the Clubhouse and normally I'm so ambitious. But I'm finding the way I'm setting goals can suck the fun out of...
