Happy Friday Eve!

For the most part, we had a busy but uneventful week. No hospital stays or major plumbing issues. We'll take that as a win!

I haven't had a bunch of time in my sewing room, but I've started laying out blocks for a special project. At the day job we have a tradition where the first time someone has a baby a bunch of people contribute quilt blocks and we make them into a wall hanging. I'll be assembling the below blocks into a 4 x 4 wall hanging quilt. We will do one additional square with everyone's name on it.

The nursery theme is teddy bears and golf. How cute. I got some teddy bear fabric I'll use as sashing, just waiting impatiently for it toget here. I really need to have this done by the end of next weekend - so keep your fingers crossed for me.

I think I'll do a sleeve on the back so they can hang it with a curtain rod, but would love any of the thoughts you have to take it into consideration as I wrap this up!

What's Inspiring Me This Week

Honestly, last week when I needed it the most, I got the best e-mail ever Susan (who I know as Suse from my YouTube comments) finished her Pinnacle Pop quilt! This was the first quilt I ever designed for myself, and I am absolutely thrilled to see her version of this quilt!

She ruler quilted this entire thing on her domestic machine (WHAT), and I think she did a fantastic job. This was her first time ever ruler quilting!

My favorite part - after it was done, she found a little hole in the backing, and she fixed it with that little flower motif. Proof it was made by a human being - I absolutely love that detail.

Not only that, but Susan is located in Melbourne Australia. That means a quilt I dreamed up in my head here in Syracuse NY was eventually made on the other side of the world. I am truly so humbled and grateful, and this has been such a surreal feeling! What a wonderful time to be alive where we can be inspired by and connect with quilters all over the world!
