Happy Friday Eve Reader!
Well, when I suggested last week, it would be nice for quilting to be more kid friendly, I did not anticipate that there would be people who were firmly against that.
First, thank you for all the great email responses last week - every one of them gave me something to ponder. I apologize if I didn't get to return your email. After about 30 email responses, I ran out of time to respond to each one individually - but I did read them all!!!
This led me on a journey of what I find value about quilting and what others might. I truly value community - hence why I have this newsletter and host the Clubhouse membership creating space to sew together. And to me, that includes all quilters and all those they take care of that are apart of them!
However, some people view quilt shows as adult only spaces meant for adult enjoyment. While I understand the need for adult spaces, I never thought of quilt shows as one of them - so that was a new perspective for me to ponder.
Lastly - when it comes to strollers (a very common theme in a lot of emails and comments) - I agree that crowded aisles are a problem. Whether it is from strollers, wheelchairs, scooters, other mobility aides or just too many people. This is a problem that should be solved by quilt show organizers.
