A weekly note from Tasha Quilts

Happy Friday Eve!

Another busy week here! First full week of kids and husband all back to school and work. Has made my work days (I work as an accountant from home) so much quieter! I'm enjoying it to be perfectly honest!

My quilt guild is having a quilt show this weekend. I got my Petals Crossing's binding on and the sleeve pinned on the day before I had to drop it off in true Tasha fashion - lol!

Keep reading to see a TINY Halloween quilt block pattern and some other Halloween blocks I can't wait to try.

Here is my Petals Crossing quilt. I love the idea of the red as binding. Thank you, Dawn, (she gave me the advice inside the Clubhouse when I was asking the group which color I should pick! Although I got a lot of great suggestions - thanks everyone!)

From my Sewing Room

Last Friday morning I saw this pattern and had to make it. A record time for me, I had this adorable little guy foundation paper pieced by Friday evening. The stitching around the outside is the basting to remove the papers, but I did decide that I'll leave them in. I'm going to attempt to turn this into a fridge magnet.

The pattern is: a Tiny Spook FPP Micro Quilt Pattern by Summer Sleet.

I also saw this pattern by Julius Handmade and had to have it. I haven't started stitching up yet, but how stinking cute is this ghost witch?!

I'm Presenting in a Free Quilting Summit!

I'm presenting at my very first quilting summit! It's completely free to attend, and there are 17 presenters, lots of freebies, and plenty to learn. If you sign up through my link, it also helps the organizers know that I'm doing my part to spread the word!

Weekly Poll

Last week I asked about Halloween sewing and if you're planning on doing any:

  • 40% are a Yes
  • 60% are a No!

I guess we all know where I fell into this poll - lol!

Fall is approaching here in NY - I love all the apple treats, cooler weather and Halloween decor! The true fall question though, which is superior - Apple or Pumpkin?!

Happy Friday Eve! I recently searched the internet looking for the perfect wallet to make. I found the pattern on Etsy, bought it, and even spent two hours making it. Then I realize the pattern was not good. I wasted a lot of time. I reached out to the seller who apologized and promised they would take the listing down? Do you think that happened? Hear all about it in this week's video - UGH! This video has been taking off a bit (for me) on YouTube, and there are so many comments of people...

Thursday Thread A weekly note from Tasha Quilts on what I'm stitching and what is inspiring me! Happy Friday Eve! This week I experimented making a stained glass inspired (sort of) applique quilt block. It's not perfect, and I think I'd do some things differently next time. I think I would do the full flower and petal units together on the back and then cut them out instead of the individual pieces. I'd also change up the colors a bit. I'd love for you to tell me how you think I could make...

Thursday Thread A weekly note from Tasha Quilts on what I'm stitching and what is inspiring me! Happy Friday Eve! This week is an exciting week - my oldest turns 9 today! My daughter even spent her bookfair money on him yesterday to get him a present today. I did finish up this quilt recently - well, I outsourced it, lol. My friend Susan quilted and put the binding on this quilt for me. It is a Cotton Cuts Puzzle Mystery Quilt called Flyaway. I originally really didn't like this quilt because...
